Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do Mobile phones work at Lillydale? A: Generally mobiles do not work at Lillydale. A few of the specially designed Telstra “Rural” phones do work here for example the TU550. This gives you the perfect excuse to not answer any calls and simply spend time reconnecting with the ones you love.
Q: What time is arrival and departure? A: Arrival time is at 2pm and departure is at 10am. By adhering to these times it will allow the rooms to be prepared for our next guests. You are welcome to arrange a different arrival or departure time with staff if it is available however this may incur an additional charge.
Q: I am on holidays and don't wish to clean up. Is this okay? A: We expect rooms to be neat when you leave. This includes dishes washed and dried and put away. If you would prefer not to do this, that is fine but there will be a surcharge added to your credit card.
Q: Do you have babysitting? A: Yes, we have specially designed activities including treasure hunts, animal grooming and bushwalking. We also offer a night time service that includes dinner for the children and DVD watching allowing the parents to have a romantic evening meal. These activities need to be booked one week before arrival and are an optional extra.
Q: Do you have activities just for couples? A: We are happy to arrange candlelit dinners for couples in their rooms or if the weather is fine we are happy to do moonlit dinners outside their room in their courtyard. We also offer pamper packages which need to be pre-booked one week before arrival. These packages can include facials, massages or body wraps.
Q: Can I bring my dog or horse? A: Unfortunately Lillydale is unable to accept any outside dogs or horses. Our dogs are working dogs and whilst they are very people friendly they are territorial and do not like other dogs.
Q: Can I go camping at Lillydale? A: Lillydale does not currently have any camping facilities.
Q: How many people can go riding at once? A: For safety reasons we take out no more than five people at a time and all trail rides are at a walking pace. This is because even though you may be an accomplished horse rider you are on a new horse that may not react the same way that your usual horse does. Only one person is able to be on the horse at a time. There are no exceptions to this rule. Our trail rides have fantastic views and we go through Koala grove.
Q: Does Lillydale have a restaurant open to guests? A: Lillydale does not have a restaurant. However you are able to book breakfast or dinner up to one week before arrival. We require this time limit as we are over 40 minutes to the nearest major grocery store and we only make one trip in to town each week for supplies. We do not have a special children's menu. Children are served a smaller portion of what the adults are having and is always healthy. If your children only eat a few select things we recommend bringing food for the children which you are able to prepare yourself. We are able to provide breakfast and dinner. Please let us know when booking your meals if you have any food allergies. We use the freshest produce available from our own garden and supplement with the produce from the grocers. We are also able to stock your rooms with groceries for you if you would prefer not to stop at the store yourself. We do require your grocery list one week before arrival as we only go to town once a week. We add a small surcharge to the total of your grocery receipt for this service.
Q: How far is Lillydale from Perth? A: Lillydale is on the East Coast of Australia and Perth is on the West Coast. We recommend flying to Brisbane airport from Perth.
Q: How far is Lillydale from Surfers Paradise or Brisbane? A: We recommend allowing 2 hours from Surfers Paradise and Brisbane if you have not driven to the Scenic Rim region before. This will allow you to drive at a leisurely pace and enjoy our fantastic scenery.
Q: Can we bring our trailbikes and do you have quadbike riding? A: Unfortunately we do not offer these options.
Q: What time is animal feeding? A: Animal feeding is at 8.30 in the morning and again at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
Q: What time are the meals served? A: Breakfast is served at 8am and Dinner is served promptly at 6pm. Unfortunately we are unable to serve Dinner later than this as we prefer for our female staff to travel at a reasonable time on our lonely country roads and we go to sleep very early so that we can wake up early as farms require a loy of maintenance work.
Q: Do I need to pre-book any activities or meals. A: Yes, we need for you to book all meals and activities before arrival so that we can arrange for the correct staff to be available on that day.
