About Us
Doug and Pam would like to welcome you to Lillydale, one of the oldest farmstays in Queensland. This little slice of heaven has been their home for over 35 years and they love introducing new friends to farm life. They have three daughters, Kylie, Kim and Rebecca and four grandchildren, Toby, Mary, Darcy and Tyler. ![]() The Family Whether it is just a day trip to escape the hustle and bustle or an overnight stay, this family operated award winning farm has something for everyone. During the day go fishing, horse riding or bush walking in Mt Barney National Park. You can also help Doug feed the animals, collect the eggs, milk the cow and even meet Nemo the lamb! Lillydale farmstay is close to Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Relax in your comfortable 4.5 star AAA rated accommodation with a private kitchenette, ensuite and outdoor courtyard. After a long day participating in all these activities revitalise yourself with a massage or facial from our local beautician Tash or send the children off to Kids Club or Saddle Club with Bec and enjoy a glass of local wine with a cheese platter. Spend time with the owners Doug and Pam Hardgrave and become part of their family during your stay. Listen to Doug as he tells you about growing up on a farm and help him with the everyday chores that are a little out of the ordinary such as checking cattle and fences on your horse ride and making sure that our local koala family are okay in Koala Grove. Doug also has great insider knowledge on climbing Mt Barney that he is happy to share. After your horse ride, visit Pam on the verandah for an icy cold drink or a refreshing ice cream. Doug and Pam start work very early in the morning to attend to the daily chores of life on the farm so that you can participate in the fun jobs later on in the day. This means that they also go to sleep very early and their yummy home cooked dinner featuring their own home grown organic vegetables is served at 6pm. Lillydale is proud to be a part of Ecotourism Australia's accreditation scheme and currently holds Advanced Ecotourism status. We try to approach life with a sustainable outlook and have planted over 1000 eucalypts to help create a lasting habitat for our local koala families. At Lillydale your stay will be uninterrupted by technology with most mobile phones out of service range, which gives you the perfect reason to reconnect with nature and the ones you love.
